Clinical Services play an integral role in the emotional growth of our students by helping them gain control over impulsive behaviors and develop positive strategies for coping with frustrating and difficult situations.
Social and emotional learning (SEL) supports students in acquiring and applying the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to develop healthy identities, manage emotions, and achieve personal and collective goals. It teaches students how to show empathy for others, establish and maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions. We utilize a multitude of SEL curriculums including the PATHS Program and Zones of Regulation.
Music therapy is provided by a certified Music Therapist who uses music in a clinical and evidence-based way to support each student’s individualized needs. Music offers our students the ability to express themselves without words and facilitates relaxation through singing, playing instruments, writing songs and listening to music.
Therapy dogs create an atmosphere of engagement, social interaction, and emotional support. They possess a unique ability to offer comfort, alleviate stress, and keep students compassionately engaged in their environment.
Mindfulness helps students feel more regulated, focused, and ready to learn. It assists students in managing impulsivity, reducing conflict, and increasing their ability to stay engaged. Mindfulness teaches them additional ways to handle their feelings and emotions.
